Dishwashers are pretty simple, basically have hot water from the house and the heater coil to keep it hot an electric pump, and a circuit board to open and close valves all over the place. Electric motors should last a long time like 20 years, ie the pump should last 20 years. I’m kind of suspicious that it’s not the pump but that’s what repairman Know how to replace. Just sounds like bad circuits to me, Maybe a loose wire somewhere? (Kill the power to the dishwasher and see if it resets something?)

Check the water flow into the sink to see if it’s coming out in a strong stream, maybe that hose is blocked and screwing everything else up.
